Ominous Omens

I don’t know how mothers do it; if I had a child, the last thing I’d be thinking about is where to get the best electric breast pump. Instead, I’d be worrying whether my baby would grow up to be a juvenile delinquent like those featured in the newspapers nowadays. I’m fearful of what the world holds for the future generation. On one hand, we’re exhorted to conserve the environment and reduce global warming for the future generation, and yet, my generation encourages conspicuous consumption. It’s no surprise kids these days are so mixed up with the conflicting messages us adults are sending out.
